Wally Jiagoo

Wally is a writer for stage and screen. A graduate of Soho Theatre's Young Writer's Group, he has previously had work performed at Soho Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Trafalgar Studios, and The Albany Theatre. 

For TV, Wally writes comedy as well as drama. He was a shortlisted finalist for BBC All Mixed Up sitcom competition in 2010, and was selected to take part in the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course in 2014. 

He has also won the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Prize for TV Drama in 2016.

RASHEED/RASHEEDA - Pilot for comedy/drama developed on Channel 4 Screenwriting Course.  

NEW MONEY - TV sitcom. Received rehearsed reading at Soho Theatre in 2010 as a shortlisted finalist for the BBC's 'All Mixed Up' sitcom competition.

SKINS - Mini-episode. Shortlisted finalist for Company Pics/C4 competition, 2008.

 

HAPPY GO LUCKY - Short film directed by Jamie Chung. 1st Runner Up at the Smoke & Mirrors 48 Hour Film Competition 2008.

NEW MONEY - Radio comedy series pilot. Rewrite of pilot was part commissioned by BBC Radio Comedy. Not broadcast, 2011.

THE MEANING OF LOL - Stage play directed by Leigh Tredger. Performed at the Rosemary Branch Theatre, 2009.

MODERN LIFE IS RUBBISH - Short play directed By Leigh Tredger. Performed at The Albany Theatre, Deptford, 2009.                       

THE SEVEN SINS - Young Vic Genesis Project. Directed by Annette Mees.        Received staged reading at Soho Theatre, 2007.                                                    

MUMMY’S BOY - Stage play directed by Jana Manekshaw. Received staged reading by National Youth Theatre at Soho Theatre, 2006.                                             

THE DROP OFF - Short play directed by Suzanne Gorman. Performed by Shared Experience Youth Theatre at Trafalgar Studios, 2006. Winner Of The Promis Prize at The London Writers Competition, 2006.

SHEPHERD’S PIE, ANYONE? - Short play directed by Sita Ramamurthy. Received staged reading at Theatre Royal, Stratford East, 2005.                                                  

GYM BUDDIES - Short play directed by Jon Lloyd. Received staged reading at Soho Theatre, 2005. Winner Of The Promis Prize at The London Writers Competition 2005.
