Anne de Gruchy
Anne is originally from London but now lives in her adopted city of Nottingham and loves the heady cultural mix of the East Midlands. She describes her guilty pleasures as whisky and motorbikes, although she no longer owns one. Walking in the nearby Peak District is her spiritual fix and landscapes provide her with profound inspiration for her writing.
She has a background in mental health, advocacy and community development and her writing is influenced by her own experiences of mental health problems and caring for her father, whose journey into dementia has proved both a challenge and a blessing.
Her first novel is currently on submission; OUT OF SILENCE is a haunting story of the friendship between a deaf woman and a serial killer, drawn to one another by their shared sense of isolation and their connection with the East Anglian landscape where they live.
