Sufiya Ahmed’s Under the Great Plum Tree is out now!

The unlikely friendship between a monkey and a crocodile is a fable from the Panchatantra in India from 300 BC.  The pair meet under the great plum tree and their friendship is tested.  With courage, trust and forgiveness they discover that living happily together tastes just as sweet as Miss Bandari’s golden plums.

Versions of this tale have also been found in Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, China, Japan and the Caribbean and is retold here with warmth and zest by Sufiya Ahmed and beautifully illustrated by Reza Dalvand.  Published by Tiny Owl.
